Initial Assessment

What is Initial Assessment

Students who wish to enrol on an accredited course marked with IA will be required to sit an assessment prior to enrolling. This is an English and Maths assessment which is part computer-based and part paper-based. Please allow up to 2 hours for the assessment and arrive promptly.

Once you complete your assessment you will receive the outcome immediately and may return to Reception to enrol. In the event your course requires a pre-course interview, you will be able to arrange this with Reception once you have completed your Assessment.

Please note: Some students may need to be re-assessed to ensure you are on the right course.

All learners are required to complete the Initial Assessment, including learners progressing from one level to the next regardless of academic background.

At your Assessment session you may also meet with a Careers Adviser who will be able to help you explore all of your options and choose the right course of action for you.
